B1167 - SOLDThis is a superb large antique French apothecary bottle / jar dating from the 1800's. It is very decorative and would look superb displayed with others perhaps as part of a collection. The jar is made of glass in a sublime shade of amber. The glass is just as one would hope - full of lovely old bubbles and imperfections. The front of the jar has an etched glass label announcing the contents to be 'Acidum Borieum'. The lid is metal and once had a smart livery of gold and dark red, now perfectly patinated with the passage of time. The bottle is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks. The bottle with it's lid on measures :- 26 cm (10.25 inches) high and it's diameter is approx 11.25 cm (4.5 inches) across the bottom. This beautiful and rare bottle would be a fantastic addition to a collection or period French display. It is from a carefully selected collection of antique French decorative pieces at 'La Belle Étoffe'! Please hover cursor over picture for magnified detail and click on picture for enlarged photo.
