B1322 - SOLD

This is a heavenly antique French carved wood winged cherubs / angels plaque dating from the 19th Century. It would have come from a church and would now make a fabulous château chic architectural feature to a room. We also have another pair of carved angels, B1321, listed in our other items.

The plaque has 2 angels. They have lovely wavy hair and chubby cheeked faces. Around their neck is a ruff of feathers, their feathered wings stretch out to either side.

They are carved in lovely detail. The wood is a finely grained mahogany in a rich hue. We have left the plaque as we found it but it could be polished if required.

On the back of the plaque is a loop for hanging. The tip of the wing of the left hand cherub has an old chip (please see photos) but this does not detract from this lovely old piece.

The plaque measures :- 20.5 cm (8 inches) wide x 10.5 cm (4.1 inches) high x 5 cm (2 inches) deep.
