B1328 - Amazing Antique French Toleware Jewellery /Trinket Stand, Mirror & Glass CasketOh my! Look what we have here! This is an amazing rare antique French jewellery / trinket stand dating from the 1800's. It would certainly add an authentic finishing touch to a château chic boudoir. The frame of the stand is made of wirework and is entwined with fine gauge wire tendrils of toleware flowers and bunches of grapes. Within the frame is held the most beautiful glass casket. The casket is made of very thick bevelled glass, claw set in a gorgeous decorative repoussé frame. The lid of the casket has a clasp and opens up on a hinge. The base of the casket has a padded and buttoned silk cushion in a delicate shade of pale blue now gently faded and slightly worn with the passage of time - just delicious! To either side of the casket is a decorative pierced repoussé cup in the shape of a little crown. Within each cup is a little glass etched with flowers. An oval bevelled mirror on the back of the frame, and a beautiful daisy beneath the casket complete this astonishing ensemble. The stand, it's casket and glass cups have survived the years in good antique condition. The glass of the casket has one or two scratches but there are no chips or cracks. The stand measures 24 cm (9.5 inches) high x 16 cm (6.25 inches) wide x 12 cm (4.75 inches) deep. An exceptional rare trinket stand to use and enjoy and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe. N.B. Any accessories used to display the stand are not included.
