This is a charming antique French paper / letter clip dating from the 19th Century. It is in the shape of a lady's hand and would make a very decorative addition to a château chic bureau.

The clip is made of repoussé metal which has mellowed to a fabulous atmospheric bronze hue. The hand has a ring to the elegant index finger and a beautiful frilled cuff to the wrist. The hand is attached to the back plate by a strong sprung hinge. The back plate is also decorative and has a hole at the top for hanging on a hook.

The hand and it's backplate measure :- 14 cm (5.5 inches) long x 6.5 cm (2.5 inches) wide x 4 cm (1.5 inches) high.
