This is a fabulous large vintage French woven tapestry wall hanging dating from  mid 1900's. It has a bucolic rural scene and is after an 18th Century 'Verdure' Aubusson tapestry. It would add a fabulous château chic finishing touch and would look superb in a country house home.

The scene is a beautiful woodland with magnificent trees and a profusion of lush vegetation. There is a pool of water to the foreground beside which a charming pheasant stands.

The colours are subtle shades of ochre, green, teal & brown very slightly faded with the passage of time.

The tapestry is woven in cotton. There is a curtain tape sewn to the top at the back. 

It is in good vintage condition and measures :- 220 cm (7 ft 2.6 inches) wide x 140.5 cm (4 ft 7.3 inches) high.

A fantastic large tapestry wall hanging to add a château chic statement to a room. It is from a carefully selected collection of antique French textiles and decorative pieces at 'La Belle Étoffe'.

N.B. - The clips and pole we have used to hang the tapestry are not included.
