This is a divine antique French fluted papier mâché bowl dating from the late 1800's / early 1900's. It is beautifully hand painted with a profusion of orchids and is very decorative.

The base colour of the papier-mâché is a gorgeous rich deep burgundy with a crackle finish. It is the interior of the bowl that has the gorgeous orchids painted  in subtle shades of pink, cream and yellow with hints of green foliage

The bowl is oval in shape with a fluted edge. It is in good condition with just a little distressing to the rim which adds character to this lovely old piece.

It measures :- W 34.75 cm (13.75 inches) x D 26 cm (10.25 inches) x H 5 cm (2 inches)

This is a delightful bowl to add an authentic finishing touch to a vintage interior and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe.
