B756 - Superb Antique French Ormolu Easel Picture Frame, Acanthus Leaf Crest, C1880

This is a superb antique French easel picture frame dating from the late 1800's.

It would be perfect for a château chic boudoir, perhaps placed on a bedside table.

The frame has a gorgeous ormolu acanthus leaf crest.

It stands on two ball feet. On the back is the easel spring mechanism which works smoothly. The back stand is good and strong.

The gilding on the ormolu has mellowed over the years to timeworn perfection.

The glass display panel has a bevelled edge. It is original to the frame and is in good condition with on or two very minor nibbles to the glass.

The frame measures 20 cm (8 inches) high x 11 cm (4.3 inches) wide.

While standing it measures 9 cm (3.5 inches) deep.
