B916 - SOLD
This is a beautiful pair of long vintage French château curtains dating from the 1950's. They would be superb for a boudoir or an elegant salon.
They are made from an excellent quality cotton fabric which has good weight and is lovely and crisp. The design is absolutely divine. Candy pink vertical stripes alternate with gorgeous tumbling flower garlands on a cream background. The wider garlands are visited by fluttering blue butterflies and the narrower ones are gently entwined around a beautiful blue ribbon.
The colours are bright and beautiful and have not faded with the passage of time. Clear deep pinks, blues and greens tone perfectly with the candy pink and create a contrast with the cream background.
Along one selvedge of the fabric is printed 'Petit Trianon', GARANTI BOUSAC, ROMANEX, and on the other is pinted 'GRAND TEINT LAVAGE'.
The meeting edges and the bottoms of the curtains are trimmed with a gorgeous pink & cream passementerie. The top of each curtain has a vintage header tape with hooks and the curtains are ready to hang.
The curtains are fresh and crisp and are in excellent vintage condition. There are one or two minor marks which we have shown in the photographs.
Each curtain measures :- 264 cm (8 ft 8 inches) long x 125 cm (4 ft 1 inch) wide at the bottom and 119 cm (3 ft 11 inches) at the top.
A gorgeous pair of curtains to add an authentic vintage French finishing touch and another divine brocante find from La Belle Étoffe!
N.B. Any curtain accessories that we have used to display the curtains are not included unless otherwise stated.
