B1771 - Fabulous Antique French Rococo Style Bronze Letter Rack, Cherub & Griffin 19th Century

This is a fabulous antique French Rococo style letter rack dating from the 19th Century. It is a very decorative piece and would be the perfect finishing touch in a period study or library.

It is of very high quality and is cast in bronze in wonderful detail and definition.

It sits on two scrolled feet to the front and two ball feet to the back. It has a pierced design with many elaborate scrolls and curls.

The back panel has a central crest beneath which is a face. The front panel also has a central panel beneath which is a charming cherub sitting astride a magnificent griffin.

The letter rack is sturdy and substantial.

It measures :- 20.5 cm (8.1 inches) wide x 18 cm (7 inches) high x 5.25 cm (2.1 inches) deep. The slot for the letters is 18 cm (7 inches) wide.
