B1918 - SOLD

This is a divine antique French church candelabrum dating from the 19th Century. It would have stood on the church altar but would now make a very stylish addition to a château chic interior or to a religious display or shrine.

It takes 5 candles and sits on a round base with leaf decoration. Five leafed branches burgeon from the central column. Each branch has a beautiful repoussé flower with a gorgeous facetted paste stone centre. The bobeche are held in hexagonal repoussé cups with further leaf decoration - the attention to detail is amazing!

The gilding on the metal has mellowed to an atmospheric dark hue.

The candelabrum measures :- 36 cm (14.1 inches) high x 26 cm (10.25 inches) wide. The base is 10 cm (3.9 inches) in diameter.
