This is a beautiful pair of antique French ormolu embellishments dating from the 19th Century. They may originally have adorned a curtain pole or been used to cover hooks. They are so decorative they could now be incorporated in a number of projects to add a château chic finishing touch to a room.

They are in a gorgeous shield shape with a central finial and scrolled detail. The gilding on the ormolu has mellowed over the years and has wonderful areas of verdigris and patination.

On the back of each embellishment is a little square tube which would fit over a hook or could be adapted for fixing purposes. We have used a hook, and an antique picture frame (listed in our other items), to show how the embellishments can be used.

Each embellishment measures :- 13 cm (5 inches) high x 8.5 cm (3.25 inches) wide.
