B1228 - SOLD

This is a superb antique French dressmaker's mannequin dating from the early 1900's. It has the maker's mark 'Buste Girard PARIS'.

She is very decorative and would be a wonderful addition to a shop display or a château chic boudoir interior.

Her body is covered in fine linen which has mellowed with the passage of time but is intact, with just one or two areas of wear to the shoulders and neck and some watermarks.

She sits on a decorative adjustable wooden stand with 3 legs. There is also wood to the neck and arms. The wood has a lovely golden glow. It shows some signs of worm from the past but this is now stable. The key has the maker's name.

The mannequin has the fashionable gamine shape of gowns of the time with a flattish bosom and derrière.

She is marked with the size 44 at her neck.

Her vital statistics are :-  Bust 36 inches (91.5 cm), Waist 28.5 inches (72.5 cm), Hips 38 inches (96.5 cm).

She measures 14 inches (35.5 cm) across the shoulders.

She will stand between 152 cm (4 ft 11.75 inches) and 170 cm (5 ft 7 inches) high.

The mannequin is sturdy and dismantles for ease of transportation.

This superb antique French mannequin is from a carefully selected collection of antique decorative pieces at  'La Belle Étoffe'.

N.B. Any accessories we have used to display the mannequin are not included.
