B1391 - SOLD

This is an amazing rare set of antique French enamel cookware dating from the 19th Century. It is exquisitely pretty and will make a stunning display and a coveted addition to a collection.

The set comprises :- 6 pouring saucepans plus lids, 3 gratin dishes of varying sizes, a milk pail, a sieve, a funnel, a ladle and a slotted spoon.

The set is of fabulous quality. The metalwork is finely executed to give us pieces that are a joy to handle. They are beautifully enamelled in milky white and are absolutely covered in a gorgeous wild rose design in soft shades of pink and green which look superb against the white background.

Even the bottoms of the pieces are decorated so that when they are hung the design can be fully appreciated. See the three little butterflies on the lid of the milk pail - the detail is astonishing.

The set has survived the years in excellent antique condition with just a little minor distressing to the enamel.

As a guide to size, the saucepans graduate in size from :-
H 9 cm (3.5 inches) x W 20 cm (8 inches) to H 13 cm (5 inches) x W 39 cm (15.25 inches) including the lids and handles.

A superb ensemble of rare antique enamelware to add an authentic antique French finishing touch to a cuisine. It is from a carefully selected collection of vintage & antique French textiles and decorative pieces at 'La Belle Étoffe'.
