B1569 - SOLD

This sublime antique mirror is probably German and dates from the 19th Century. It is just so pretty! Imagine how beautiful it would look on the wall of an antique lace adorned boudoir.

It has a decorative porcelain frame mounted on an oval wooden background covered in the most delectable pink velvet now slightly faded with the passage of time.

The crest of the porcelain frame is formed by a beautiful little bird with outstretched wings. The rest of the frame is formed by a myriad of gorgeous flowers and leaves all made in incredible detail - just breathtaking! The porcelain is in gorgous shades of antique cream which looks superb against the pink background.

On the back of the mirror are two metal loops and a wire for hanging purpose.

The mirror is in good antique condition. There are some chips to the flowers (please see photos) but this does not detract from the overall beauty of this old and unusual mirror.

The mirror measures :-  43 cm (17 inches) high x  38 cm (15 inches) wide. Max. depth 12 cm (4.75 inches).

A beautiful mirror for a special niche and another superb brocante find from La Belle Étoffe!
