This is a fantastic set of excellent quality antique French textile samples dating from the Napoleon III era circa 1860. The samples are large and unused and are a rare find. They would be a dream to use for projects.

There are 6 cotton cretonne samples in two different prints and different colourways and one cotton sample. They all have two holes at the top where they were probably held in a sample book and they all have gold embossed sample labels.

The colours are vibrant shades and the detail to the printing is amazing.

They are all crisp and immaculate save for the merest hint of fading to one or two of the storage folds on numbers 7659 and 7660 (please see photos).

All of the samples are about 80 cm (31.5 inches) wide x 96 cm (37.75 inches) long except for number 7671 which is 75 cm (29.5 inches) long.
