This is a beautiful pair of antique French gesso on wood gilded picture frames dating from the 19th Century. They are of good size and would be perfect to make an impressive statement with a pair of family portraits.

They are oval in shape and have a divine bow crest with flower garlands to either side.

The back and glass have long gone but could easily be replaced.

They are in good sound antique condition but do have some characteristics of age (please see all the photos). One of the frames has a nibble out of one of the leaves & the inner rim & there is a sliver of plaster missing on the side and a small chip on the back. The other frame has some beading missing to the inner rim and some nibbles to the outer edge. These characteristica are all minor and do not detract from the overall beauty of the frames.

Each frame has two loops on the back for hanging purposes.

Each frame measures :- 57 cm (22.5 inches) high x 39 cm (15.1 inches) wide.
The aperture is :- 39 cm (15.25 inches) high x 29 cm (11.4 inches) wide.
