This is a charming antique French chamberstick candle holder dating from the 19th Century. It would have been bought as a souvenir of a holiday to Le Croisic in Brittany.

It is made of abalone shell and brass. It sits on 3 curled feet and has a curled decorative handle. The beautiful abalone shell forms the drip tray to the central brass candle holder. The shell is inscribed with ' Souvenir du Croisic'.

The candle holder is in good antique condition. The brass has a lovely antique patina.

It measures :- 9.5 cm (3.75 inches) high to the top of handle. The shell measures 12.5 cm (4.9 inches) at it's widest point.

This unusual chamberstick candle holder is from a carefully selected collection of gorgeous antique French decorative pieces at 'La Belle Étoffe'.
