B1692 - SOLD

This is a superb antique French paper / letter clip dating from the 19th Century. It is in the shape of a hand and would make a very decorative addition to a château chic bureau.

The clip is made of brass. The hand has a ring to the index finger and a beautiful frilled cuff and a bracelet to the wrist. The hand is attached to the back plate by a strong sprung hinge. The back plate is also decorative and has a hole at the top for hanging on a hook.

We have left it as we found it. The brass would polish further if required.

The hand and it's backplate measure :- 13 cm (5.1 inches) long x 6.25 cm (2.4 inches) wide x 3.25 cm (1.3 inches) high.
