B1752 - SOLD

This is a sublime antique French wax bust in the style of Houdon and dating from the 19th Century. It sits on wooden plinth and is a very decorative piece to add an authentic château chic finishing touch.

The subject is an extremely pretty young mademoiselle. She has beautiful hair styled in ringlets and held back with a bandana. She has sweet, child like features and an adorable air of innocence.

The wax is finely moulded and has a fabulous sepia hue. The plinth is made of turned wood and looks superb against the milky tone of the wax.

The bust and it's plinth have survived the years in good condition.

The bust on it's plinth measures :- 23.5 cm (9.25 inches) high x 13.5 cm (5.3 inches) wide x 9 cm (3.5 inches) deep.
