B1773 - SOLD

This is a fabulous antique French urn in the Art Nouveau style dating from the late 19th Century. It is very three dimensional and architectural and would make a stunning feature piece.

It is made in spelter with a bronze finish. It sits on a honey coloured marble base with 4 ornate feet.

The urn is of classic shape and has a fixed faux lid with a finial.

To the front of the urn is the most gorgeous winged fairy holding a rose garland swag in each hand. Each swag continues to the back of the urn where we find an equally gorgeous winged cherub also holding the garlands - just lovely.

Around the collar of the urn are swagged and tasselled drapes. To either side ia a scrolled 'handle' beneath which is a fabulous ram's head.

A brass laurel leaf garland to the front of the marble base completes this stunning ensemble.

The urn is in sturdy antique condition. The marble has a few nibbles to the edges and there ia a little patina to the spelter but it is gorgeous just as it is.

The urn measures :- 38 cm (15 inches) high x 14 cm (5.5 inches) wide x 13.1 cm ( 5.25 inches) deep.

A gorgeous urn to add a château chic finishing touch and another superb antique French architectural find from La Belle Étoffe!
