B1824 - SOLD

This is a gorgeous antique French plaster bust entitled 'Surprise' and dating from the early 1900's. It is divinely pretty and would be the perfect finishing touch to a vintage home.

The subject is an extremely pretty little girl. She has thick wavy hair caught with a bow. She has beautiful eyes, and cupid's bow lips. Her chubby little arms are crossed at her chest.

She wears a dress in a sublime shade of green. The shoulder straps each have a cute little bow and gently slip down her arms.

She is on an integral brown plaster pedestal with the title 'Surprise' to the front. The back is inscribed with 147 C.F. PARIS.

The bust is in good antique condition. There is a little patination and distressing to the paint and there is a 'bubble' just at the edge of her dress but this is not evident unless she is turned upside down. 

She measures :- 28 cm (11 inches) high x 12.5 cm (4.9 inches) wide x 10 cm (4 inches) deep.

This is a beautiful bust to add an authentic antique French finishing touch and another divine brocante find from La Belle Étoffe!
