B1926 - SOLD

This is a gorgeous antique French upholstered stool dating from the 19th Century. It would be the perfect authentic finishing touch to a château chic salon.

It sits on 4 sturdy feet and has a carved wood frame in the Empire style. The wood has it's original sublime green paint which has distressed to perfection.

The top of the stool is upholstered with Aubusson tapestry in a floral vignette design. The sides of the cushion are made in a champagne coloured silk velvet.

The wooden frame of the stool is in very good antique condition with no signs of worm.

The tapestry of the top has darkened and faded and the passementerie trim is largely missing. The tapestry could be restored and re-trimmed or the stool could be left in it's current condition of 'faded grandeur' for that 'always been there' look.

The stool measures :- 29 cm (11.4 inches) wide x 19.5 cm (7.6 inches) deep x approx. 16 cm (6.3 inches) high.
