B836 - Divine Antique French Richelieu Lace Panel, Winged Cherub & Griffin, C1900

This is a divine antique French Richelieu lace panel dating from about 1900. It would be gorgeous to use as a centre piece on a bed throw or on a cushion.

It is hand worked in fantastic detail in fine linen in a lovely shade of antique cream. The linen has good weight and handles beautifully.

The panel is worked in amazing cut out Richelieu lace and features a stunning winged cherub and griffin. The cherub offers the griffin a goblet from which it drinks. Around the perimeter are 6 beautifully worked roses.

The work is exquisite and the design breathtaking. The panel is in excellent antique condition. We have left it as we found it. There are one or two tiny spots which would probably rinse out with a very quick dip.

The panel measures 46 cm (18 inches) in diameter.
