B868 - Beautiful Antique French Boutis Quilt, Stunning Floral Cretonne Design, 19th C

This is a beautiful antique French boutis quilt dating from the 19th Century. It would look superb on a bed or would make a lovely throw for a chair or sofa.

The top of the quilt is made with a gorgeous cotton cretonne textile. It has a cream background with a magnolia flower design in shades of peach and coral. The reverse of the quilt is a printed cotton with a pink seersucker design.

The quilt has a wool lining and is lovely and snuggly. It is easy to handle and not too heavy.

The boutis work has been beautifully executed. The quilt is in excellent condition with just one small repair. There are no obvious marks so it has been left as found and has not been laundered.

It measures:- 166.5 cm (5ft 5.5 inches) long x 119 cm (3 ft 10.75 inches) wide.

A truly beautiful quilt to add an authentic vintage finishing touch and another superb antique French textile find from La Belle Étoffe.
