This is a magnificent antique French architectural mount / pediment dating from the 1800's.

It would be fantastic to incorporate into a building project as a focal point either inside or outside a house. Or it could just be used as a decorative piece and displayed on a wall or perhaps on a console table with other architectural treasure.

It is made of  cast iron and is in the shape of the St. Jacques shell. The  fan like shell forms the crest of the pediment and below it are the gorgeous curls and tails. It has it's original grey paint which has distressed and patinated to perfection over the years.

The pediment is a hefty piece and weighs nearly 3.5 kilos. It has 3 holes for fixing it to a wall.

It measures:   W 35.5 cms (14 inches) x H 24 cms (9.5 inches) x D 4 cms (1.5 inches).

A stunningly unique piece of French architectural history and another superb antique French find from La Belle Étoffe.
