This is a charming vintage French silver plated condiment set that is as decorative as it is useful.

The salt and pepper pots are in the form of two little birds sitting in a basket. The birds are weighty little pieces and are a pleasure to handle. They are small and plumptious and hold their little wings out to the side. Their feathers are beautifully defined. The basket is delightful and is beautifully woven.

The silver plating on the birds and the basket has mellowed a little over the years but is still shiny and would polish further if required.

We have removed the plugs on the underside of the birds and the interiors are clean and ready to take more salt and pepper.

The ensemble measures :- 16.5 cm (6.5 inches) wide x 8 cm (3 inches) deep x 10.5 cm (4 inches) high.
