B1094 - SOLDThis is an amazing antique French decanter dating from the late 1800's. It would certainly add an authentic château chic touch to a drinks tray! The decanter is made in thick glass and has a ground glass stopper. It sits within a fantastic ormolu embellishment and it is this that sets it apart from others. At the base of the decanter two laurel leaf garlands twist around each other to form a stunning border. Above this, to the front and back of the decanter is a beautiful bow and ribbon tail embellishment with crossed pipes and flowers. To either side of the decanter there is a beautiful little cherub within an incredibly detailed embellishment of scrolls, flower garlands and ribbons. The base of the decanter is covered with a shiny brass plate and has a makers mark. The glass stopper has a central ormolu rosette. The decanter is in good antique condition. There is a small nibble in the glass at the neck of the decanter (please see photos) but this is smooth and is stable. The decanter measures :- H 24 cm (9.5 inches) including the stopper x W 12.5 cm (5 inches) x D 8 cms (3.1 inches). This amazing decanter is from a carefully selected collection of gorgeous antique French decorative pieces & accessories at 'La Belle Étoffe'. N.B. We have shown the decanter with a bottle of wine which is not included. Please hover cursor over picture for magnified detail and click on picture for enlarged photo. SOLD
