This is a 1.6 metre (63 inch) length of fantastic antique French pom pom and fringe passementerie. It would be perfect for trimming the bottom of a chair and would make a fabulous pelmet.

Along the top of the passementerie is a cream braid woven with silk in burgundy, pink and green. From this descends a long luxuriant matching cream fringing. Overlaying the fringing is a 'mesh' of multi stranded silk and wool with plumptious wool pom poms and silk and wool tassels - just amazing!

The colours in the pom poms match the top braid and there are additional salmon pink, ochre and yellow in the tassels.

The passementerie is in good antique condition. The tassels have tousled a little with the passage of time.

The piece measures :- 160 cm (5 ft 3 inches) long x 17 cm (6.75 inches) wide.

A divine length of antique passementerie to add a gorgeous château chic finishing touch to a period textile project and another superb brocante find from 'La Belle Étoffe'.
