This is a superb pair of two armed antique French brass candle wall sconces in the Empire style and dating from about 1900. They would certainly add flickering candlelit atmosphere to a château chic interior.

They are large and impressive. The backplate has a double handled urn crest. The two arms branch out from the backplate on acanthus leaf scrolls. The candle cups sit on decorative bobeche.

There is a slot on the back of each sconce for hanging on a wall.

The sconces are very substantial and sturdy with good weight. The brass has mellowed to a lovely antique hue.

Each sconce measures  :- 39 cm (15.3 inches) high x 26 cm (10.25 inches) wide x approx 10 cm (4 inches) deep.
