B1758 - Stunning Vintage French Tapestry Wall Hanging 'Le Jardin De Bagatelle' Paris

This is a stunning vintage French Point De Loiselles tapestry wall hanging. It is quite magnificent and would certainly add a chateâu chic finishing touch to a room. It is entitled 'Le Jardin De Bagatelle' and is in the renaissance style, after a fresco over a fireplace at the Château de Fontainbleau near Paris. It depicts a fabulous formal garden with a central fountain. It is framed in the foreground by 2 ornate collonades which stand to either side of a magnificent urn brimming with fruit. Fabulous swags of fruit complete the framing of the fantastic scene.

The colours are fabulous with golds, reds and greens dominating the palette.

The back of the tapestry is lined with cotton and there are metal fixtures to aid hanging on a wall. There is also a sewn pocket along the top to take a pole.

The tapestry is in good vintage condition. It measures :- 167 cm (5 ft 5.75 inches) high x 124.5 cm (4 ft 1 inch) wide.
