B1915 - SOLD

This is a stunning pair of antique French gilded curtain tie / hold backs in the Empire style and dating from the 19th Century.

They are heavy substantial examples of their type. They are of good quality with excellent detail and definition to the casting of the metal.

The back plate has a beautiful floral crest. The hook has acanthus leaf detail  and ends with an impressive grape filled acanthus leaf cup.

The gilding on the metal is still bright and beautiful with a subtle antique patina.

The tie backs have a strap on the reverse of the back plate and can be fixed by hanging them on a hook. There is also a hole in the top of the back plate to take a screw.

They measure :- H 15 cm (5.8 inches) x W 3.3 cm (1.3 inches) x D 13 cm (5.1 inches).

A superb pair of tie backs to add a château chic statement and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe!
