B2029 - Superb Antique French Spelter Candle Wall Sconce, Mirror, Cherubs, Angels, Putti

This superb two armed antique French candle wall sconce would certainly add a château chic finishing touch to a room.

It is made in gilded spelter. The backplate has a central oval mirror with two winged cherubs above and an angel to either side. Beneath the mirror are flower garland and ribbon swags.

The two arms branch out from the backplate and have delicate scrolled acanthus leaf detail.  The candle cups sit on decorative bobeche.

There is a loop on the back of the sconce for hanging on a wall.

The sconce was once wired for electricity. There is a hole in the bobeche to take a wire.

The sconce is in sturdy antique condition. The gilding has mellowed over the years to a lovely old gold hue. 

The sconce measures  :- 34.5 cm (13.5 inches) high x 16.5 cm (6.5 inches) wide x approx 9 cm (3.5 inches) deep.
