B2007 - Stunning Vintage French Woven Tapestry Wall Hanging, 18th Century Hunting SceneThis is a stunning vintage French tapestry wall hanging dating from the mid 1900's. It is woven with an 18th Century hunting scene. It is a very atmospheric piece and would look superb in a country house home.
It is of good quality and is woven in cotton in wonderful colour and detail.
To the background is a sublime hillside vista with a village on a magnificent bridge beneath which a river cascades. To the foreground we have our hunters, some on foot and some on horseback. They wear stunning costumes in blue and claret. To the centre of the scene are 2 fabulous trees and the foreground has flowers and lush vegetation.
Around this glorious scene is a narrow scrolled integral border.
The tapestry is in good vintage condition. It is lined and has a velcro strip sewn to the top of the back.
It measures :- 163 cm (5 ft 4.2 inches) wide x 112 cm (3 ft 8.1 inches) high.
A fantastic vintage tapestry wall hanging to add an authentic château chic statement to a room and another divine antique French textile find from La Belle Étoffe.
