B1052 - SOLDThis is a magnificent antique French heraldic architectural mount / pediment dating from the 1800's. It would be fantastic to incorporate into a building project as a focal point either inside or outside a house. Or it could just be used as a decorative piece and displayed on a wall or perhaps on a console table with other architectural treasure. It is made of cast iron and the design is dominated by a magnificent double headed eagle. Each head wears a crown and there is a central crown crest. Between the eagle's fantastic outstretched wings is a central shield with a rearing lion. Two crossed pikes complete the stunning ensemble. The pediment is a hefty piece and weighs over 3 kilos. It has an integral bracket on the back for fixing it to a wall. The cast iron has patinated over the years to wonderful effect. It measures:- 37 cms (14.5 inches) high x 32 cms (12.5 inches) wide.
