B1423 - SOLDThis is an exquisite antique French boudoir doll adorning a bon bon box. It dates from around 1920 and would have been given as a gift to celebrate a first communion. The doll has a beautiful face with big brown eyes and fluttery eyelashes. She has pink cheeks and cupid's bow red lips. Her hair is made from silk and is styled in ringlets. Her hands are made of bisque. She wears a gorgeous cream organza gown and matching cape. Around her waist is a silk sash from which hangs a mother of pearl rosary. Around her neck is a tiny medallion with a putti cherub, after Raphael, on one side and a fleur de lys on the other. The attention to detail is astonishing!
