This is a superb vintage French woven tapestry wall hanging dating from  mid 1900's. It has a bucolic rural scene and is after an 18th Century 'Verdure' Aubusson tapestry. It would add a fabulous château chic finishing touch and would look superb in a country house home.

The scene has a magnificent château and a village in the background. A river wends it's way from the village to the foreground. All around are beautiful trees. To the foreground is lush vegetation among which is a bird.

The colours are subtle shades of ochre, green, teal & brown.

The tapestry is finely woven in cotton. It is lined and has brass rings attached at the top for hanging purposes.

It is in good vintage condition.

The tapestry measures :- 128 cm (4 ft 2.3 inches) wide x 89 cm (2 ft 11 inches) high.

A superb verdure tapestry wall hanging to add a château chic statement to a room. It is from a carefully selected collection of antique French textiles and decorative pieces at 'La Belle Étoffe'.
