This is a beautiful long vintage French woven tapestry wall hanging dating from  mid 1900's. It has a bucolic rural scene and is after an 18th Century 'Verdure' Aubusson tapestry. It would add a fabulous château chic finishing touch and would look superb in a country house home.

The scene is dominated by two fabulous trees and lush vegetation to the foreground. In the background are mountains from which a river wends it's way. There is a bridge over the river and a folly.

Around this splendour is a scrolled leaf border.

The colours are rich ochres, greens, browns, teals and blue.

The tapestry is in very good vintage condition. It is lined and has a pocket at the back to take a pole.

It measures :- 192 cm (6 ft 3.5 inches) high x 120 cm (3 ft 11.2 inches) wide.

A fabulous tapestry wall hanging to add a château chic statement to a room. It is from a carefully selected collection of antique French textiles and decorative pieces at 'La Belle Étoffe'.
