This is a superb antique French ormolu picture frame dating from about 1880.

It would be perfect for a boudoir, perhaps placed on a bedside table.

The frame has decorative sides and an exquisite flower garland crest. The back is a brass plate to which the sturdy supporting back rest is attached.

The gilding on the ormolu has mellowed over the years to timeworn perfection.

The glass is clear and is in good condition.

The frame measures 22.5 cm (9 inches) high x 15.5 cm (6 inches) wide.

While standing it is 11 cm (4.25 inches) deep.
