This is a superb set of 4 antique French gilded metal curtain tie / hold backs dating from the 1800's. They would certainly add a château chic finishing touch to a curtain ensemble.

They are substantial pieces of good quality with excellent detail and definition to the casting of the metal. The fascia and backplate of the hook have a swirling acanthus leaf design and there is a charming little rose in the centre of the fascia.

The gilding on the metal has mellowed over the years to a subtle old gold hue.

The tie backs have a strap on the reverse of the back plate and can be fixed by hanging them on a hook.

They measure approx. :- H 14.5 cm (5.75 inches) x W 6 cm (2.3 inches) x D 14 cm (5.5 inches) .
