B1433 - SOLDThis is a beautiful antique French Cornely lace curtain dating from the 1800's. It is in good antique condition, is very long and would be divine incorporated into any number of interior projects. We also have two other curtains, B1434 and B1435, which have the same design as this, listed in our other items. The textile is a very fine cotton muslin and is absolutely covered in an exquisite floral design with vignettes and tendrils worked in fine chain stitch. The curtain is scalloped to the right hand edge and the bottom and within this is a sublime scrolled border. The colour of the curtain is antique white bordering on a gorgeous palest of pale dove grey. The curtain is in good antique condition but not surprisingly, considering the delicacy of the textile and it's age there are some characteristics. There are a few darns and a scattering of tiny holes not worthy of darning. These characteristics do not detract from the wholesome nature or splendour of this gorgeous antique lace curtain. We have photographed the entire surface of the curtain for close inspection. The left hand edge of the curtain is the selvedge and looks like it was once sewn. The top of the curtain is not sewn. The curtain measures :- 290 cm (9 ft 6 inches) long x 193 cm (6 ft 4 inch) wide. A divine frothy French Cornely lace curtain to add an authentic château chic finishing touch and another gorgeous antique French textile find from La Belle Étoffe. Please note that the clips & tie back we have used to display the curtain are not included. Please hover cursor over picture for magnified detail and click on picture for enlarged photo. SOLD
