This is a magnificent pair of antique French gilded metal curtain tie / hold backs dating from the 1800's. They would certainly add an authentic château chic finishing touch to a curtain ensemble.

They are substantial pieces of good quality and weight with excellent detail and definition to the casting of the metal.

The fascia of the hook and the back plate have a beautiful three dimensional swirling acanthus leaf design.

The gilding on the metal has mellowed over the years to an atmospheric hue.

The tie backs have a strap on the reverse of the back plate and can be fixed by hanging them on a hook. There is also a hole to take a screw.

They measure approx :- H 22 cm (8.6 inches) x W 7 cm (2.75 inches) x D 17 cm (6.75 inches).
