B1630 - SOLDThis is a sublime antique French repoussé crown dating from the 19th Century. It would originally have adorned a religious statue in a church and could now be used as such again, or, as it is life sized, be incorporated into a bridal headdress ensemble.
It is made from pierced repoussé metal and has a vine leaf and grape design.
The gilding on the repoussé has mellowed to an atmospheric antique hue.
The crown is in good antique condition and is sturdy.
It measures :- 5 cm (2 inches) high. It is 14 cm (5.5 inches) from back to front and 13 cm (5.1 inches) from side to side.
