B2165 - Sublime Vintage French Woven Tapestry Wall Hanging, 18th Century Bucolic Verdure Scene

This is a sublime vintage French tapestry wall hanging dating from the mid 1900's. It is of good size and has a stunning 18th Century bucolic verdure scene. It is a feast for the eyes and would create a wonderful focal point in a room.

In the background is a gorgeous mountain vista with a river and a village. To the foreground two families are gathered under 3 magnificent trees. The mothers are with their children while the fathers each have their gun and dogs. All around them is lush vegetation.

Around this splendour is a gorgeous sewn border with a scrolled leaf design.

The tapestry is of excellent quality and in good vintage condition. It is tightly woven in cotton in amazing detail. It is lined and has a sewn pocket on the back to take a pole.

The tapestry measures :- 196 cm (6ft 5.1 inches) wide x 103 cm (3ft 4.5 inches) high.
