B2168 - Gorgeous Antique French Cornely Lace Embroidered & Scalloped Muslin Pelmet 19thC

This is a gorgeous antique French Cornely lace pelmet dating from the 1800's. It would be divine incorporated into any number of interior projects. For example over a bed or a pair of curtains.

The textile is a snowy white fine muslin. The bottom of the pelmet is scalloped. The whole pelmet is extensively embroidered with floral vignettes and tendrils worked in fine chain stitch.

The top and sides of the pelmet are finished.

It is in good antique condition but not surprisingly, considering the delicacy of the textile and it's age, there are some minor characteristics. There are 5 pin holes, a tiny area of wear by one of the flowers and some rust marks along the top (please see photos). None of these characteristics draw the eye from the splendour of this beautiful antique lace pelmet.

The pelmet measures :- 195 cm (6 ft 4.7 inches) long at the top x 72 cm (2 ft 4.3 inches) high.
