B2011 - Divine Antique French Religious Church Banner, Wall Hanging, Virgin Mary & Jesus

This is a divine antique French religious banner depicting the Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus dating from the 19th Century. It would have hung in a church and been carried during religious processions. It would now make a stunning decorative finishing touch to an interior. 

It features a beautiful tender scene of the Virgin Mary offering Baby Jesus grapes. It is printed on canvas in classic style in wonderful colour and detail.

The scene is surrounded by a silk passementerie and is bordered and lined with a fabulous verdure tapestry textile. There is a gorgeous multi coloured silk tasselled fringe to the bottom and a hanging cord to the top.

The banner is in good antique condition. The canvas has creased over the years and the silk passementerie has fluffed in places but it is gorgeous just as it is.

The banner measures :- 93.5 cm (36.8 inches) high including the fringe but not the cord x 62 cm (24.4 inches) wide.
