B1004 - SOLD

This is one of the most gorgeous antique French tablecloths I have ever seen. It dates from the early 1900's and would look superb on a long château table.

It is made in a beautiful crisp cream linen in the cut out Richelieu lace style. The design is dominated by fantastic flamboyant flowers and scrolls embroidered and edged in a lovely soft grey silk which looks divine against the cream linen. Between the flowers and scrolls the linen is joined by intricate lacework in various styles. The effect and attention to detail is truly stunning.

We have left the cloth as we found it - very crisp and fresh and in excellent antique condition. It folds and drapes beautifully.

In one or two places on the very edge of the cloth is some very light antique patination (please see photos), which would almost certainly launder out.

The cloth measures :- 260 cm (8 ft 6.5 inches) long x 172 cm (5 ft 7.5 inches) wide. We have photographed it on a 2 metre long French farmhouse table.

A truly exceptional antique French linen and lace textile to add a très jolie touch to a table and another fabulous antique French brocante find from La Belle Étoffe.
