This is a beautiful pair of antique French ormolu curtain tie / hold backs dating from the 1800's. They would certainly add a château chic finishing touch to a curtain ensemble.

They are substantial pieces of good quality with excellent detail and definition to the casting of the metal.

The back plate and the fascia of the hook has a gorgeous roses and leaf design.

The gilding on the ormolu has mellowed over the years to a dramatic dark bronze colour.

The tie backs have a strap on the reverse of the back plate and can be fixed by hanging them on a hook. There is also a hole to take a screw.

They measure :- H 17 cm (6.75 inches) x W 6 cm (2.3 inches) x D 13.5 cm (5.25 inches) approx.
