B1043 - SOLD
This is a beautiful pair of antique French ormolu embellishments dating from the 19th Century. They may originally have adorned a curtain pole or been used to cover hooks. They are so decorative they could now be incorporated in a number of projects to add a château chic finishing touch to a room.
They have a gorgeous scrolled and curled acanthus leaf design. The gilding on the ormolu has mellowed over the years and has wonderful areas of verdigris and patination.
On the back of each embellishment is a little square tube which would fit over a hook or could be adapted for fixing purposes. We have used a hook, and an antique picture frame (listed in our other items), to show how the embellishments can be used.
Each embellishment measures :- 15.5 cm (6 inches) high x 9 cm (3.5 inches) wide.
A gorgeous pair of decorative mounts to add a château chic finishing touch and another divine brocante find from La Belle Étoffe.
