B1045 - SOLD

This is a beautiful antique French ormolu embellishment dating from the 19th Century. It may originally have adorned a curtain pole or been used to cover a hook. It is so decorative it could now be incorporated in a number of projects to add a château chic finishing touch to a room.

It has a gorgeous scrolled and curled acanthus leaf design. The gilding on the ormolu has mellowed over the years to a lovely patinated old gold.

On the back of the embellishment is a little square tube which would fit over a hook or could be adapted for fixing purposes. We have used a hook, and an antique picture frame (listed in our other items), to show how the embellishments can be used.

The embellishment measures :- 15 cm (6 inches) high x 9 cm (3.5 inches) wide.
