This is the most fabulous antique French Cornely lace curtain dating from the 1800's. It is long and wide and would be divine incorporated into any number of interior decorating projects.
The textile is a very fine cotton muslin and is absolutely covered in an exquisite floral design with vignettes and tendrils worked in fine chain stitch. To the edges is a fabulous flower and urn design.
The curtain is scalloped to both edges and the bottom. The top has a raw edge.
The curtain is beautifully clean and is a lovely snowy white. Not surprisingly, considering the delicacy of the textile and it's age, there is a scattering of small holes and minor areas of wear across the curtain (please see photos). None of this draws the eye and the curtain is beautiful and fully functional as it is. The holes could however be darned or repaired as has been done on other Cornly lace curtains we have on sale.
The curtain measures :- 280 cm (9 ft 2 inches) long x 180 cm (5 ft 11 inches) wide.
A divine frothy French Cornely lace curtain to add an authentic château chic finishing touch and another gorgeous antique French textile find from La Belle Étoffe.
Please note that the clips we have used to display the curtains are not included.
